Metawave is pioneering a technology that seeks to make autonomous driving a reality by leveraging electronically-steerable metamaterial-based antenna and artificial intelligence using ultra-fast  pencil-beam steering/scanning augmented with intelligent algorithms that enable unprecedented capabilities like 3D radar imaging, identification, tracking, and early-classification of objects in all-weather conditions. Such capabilities will not only make autonomous driving a reality, but will also enable safer, smarter, and more reliable vehicles. Metawave headquarters is located on PARC’s campus in Palo Alto in the heart of Silicon Valley.

Reporting directly to the CEO, this role will be critical to building Metawave’s business strategies across the evolving automotive value-chain. As the Director or VP of Business Development, your high energy, rich industry network, and customer-focused style will be instrumental in building partnerships, securing proof-of-concept (POC) agreements, and wining joint development projects with OEM partners.

This is an extraordinary opportunity for someone with a proven track record in building business foundation and growing strategies across the global automotive OEM, Tier1, Tier2, and automotive manufacturing industries.  

 

Your Role:

  • Manage automotive OEM, Tier1, and Tier2 customers and partners accounts and represent the company at meetings and events

  • Identify go-to market strategies and work with product development, legal, and marketing teams on executing them

  • Work with technical team on responding to RFI, prototype delivery, testing, and support

  • Develop successful pricing strategies, identify risks, and define product requirements with the Product Development team

  • Generate product data sheet, specification, and other product marketing material

  • Monitor partner, customer, market and competitor activity and the impact to company growth

  • Manage customer relationships from POC to joint development phase

  • Work with CFO and CEO on establishing and maintaining the BD budget during growth phase

  • Provide detailed and accurate forecasting while attending company BoD meetings when necessary

  • Prepare high-quality monthly BD pipeline and activity reports to communicate with employees at all levels

  • Support Marketing and PR teams on automotive event selection, booth planning, meetings schedule, and company presentations.

 

Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of experience leading sales and business development organizations at a Tier 1 automotive electronics supplier Tier 2 semiconductor supplier, or Tier 2 electronics subcomponent supplier

  • Strong communication skills (verbal, written, persuasion and presentation)

  • Experience working in an unstructured, high-growth environment is a plus
